chronic hepatitis b

My father aged 50 years is diagnosed with chronic hepatitis b. His viral load is 2 crore IU/ml. His total serum billirubin is 1.02 & direct serum billirubin is 0.33. Currently doctor is giving only jaundice medicine and has said to test LFT after 3 months. What should my father do to save his liver from diseases?

Your doctor is completly ignorent.read all the prevous massage in forum carefully. As per guidlines of hbv treatment following test is mendetory
1.hbv dna in iu/ml real time pcr test
2.hbeag test
3.liver funtion test
4.ultra sonography
5. Fibroscan of liver
Fibroscan is used to evaluate the condition of liver.there are two type of mefication pegiferon given in injection and nucleotide in form of medicine like entacavir and tenofovir. So visit a good gastro doctor he will monitor your father.
