my last two consecutive blood work shown hbv dna not detected, alt in 40's range, (alt was as high as in hundreds before, the dr. was more nervous than I was), hbsag non-reactive, hbsab reactive, immune to hepatitis B virus. the Dr. did tried to find my genotype back in 2009, but the lab was not able determine my genotype, possible due to low hepatitis B virus activity. now the dr. told me I am converted, in a few more weeks, I will go draw blood one more time for 6 months after stopping the viread pill, if everything stays the same, then probably i am officially off the hook.
A person who I talked with also had ALT spike just before natural seroclearance. She had HBsAg and HBsAb+ for many years, no treatment.
You mention That your hbsag is not active so you clered the virus
Many HBV patients do have both HBsAg and HBsAb positive at the same time. Whether you will clear HBsAg is difficult to predict unless your serum HBsAg is < 100 iu/ml. Having HBsAb positive does not predict that you will clear HBsAg. You can research this topic by googling "simultaneous HBsAg HBsAb positive".
not uncommon means that this is common case means this report has some
meaning means do i have chance of becoming hbsag negative in near future
i think my hbsag positive but the anti hbs is positive then what does the report mean do anti hbs reactive mean any thing means will i become hbsag negative in near future
Do hbsag test if negative is good if positive ask your doc what should you do
Your doctor should base his decision on HBsAg only. Whether HBsAb is positive or negative is not important, in my opinion.
please explain is this anti hbs mean something or not mean my doctor told that he will stop tenefovir after it get positive please explain about it
My dr took me off viread about 1 year after my hbsag non-reactive, and hbsab reactive, hbv dna undetectable. also patient who is take viread might have strong flare after stopping the medication.
This is my opinion:
When she was HBsAg positive, her surface antibody was not the matching antibody to her surface antigen, rather it was to another serotype of the surface antigen (explanation as to why varies from co-infection to mutation).
Finally, she lost her HBsAg, with or without appearance of the matching antibody.
In the theory of antigen-antibody, matching antigen/antibody neutralize each other. Since we are not yet able to detect HBsAg/HBsAb immunocomplex, it may be more appropriate to say when HBSsAg is positive, there is zero HBsAb or an excess of HBsAg over HBsAB. When HBsAb is positive, there is zero HBsAg or an excess of HBsAb over HBsAg.
I know a woman who have been inactive carrier for a long time and she had both HBsAg and HBsAb (low but postitive) for many years but finally she'd lost HBsAg without any treatment. Doest it mean HBsAg and Ab started to match finally ?
If HbsAg is still positive when HBsAb is positive, it means the HBsAb is not the matching antibody for the antigen. Both HBsAg and HBsAb positive at the same time are not uncommon.
In general, HBsAb positive WITH HBsAg positive too is not significant.
This is my opinion: probably you have f1 to f4 because your immune system who cleared the virus, liver got some damage . But, if you are clear of virus now your liver should regenerate itself, helped by you with correct diet, vit D, exercises.etc. correct me if i am wrong. Best luck!
Wow. This is great! Do you have other reports for hbs ag quantitative before start tnv? What is the result of anti hbs ag? In UI/ml?
