I was wrong, igm negative here!
Hbv is not responsible for thrombocytopenia. U
must have got some other haemolytic infection
last year (doctor should have done
investigations) ---------------- u 're right !!! Malaria is common at the area i was working at that time, i forget to take prophylaxis, i had all the symptoms of malaria so based on my symptoms it was enought to have antimalaria treatment.i have recovered completely. again i had relapsed. thats when i have done the CBC with low platelets.
"now if you have hbcab igm negative you always had it from childhood, if positive you just got it and your immune system will clear it 97,5% "
I think I have this result somewhere.. don't think I ever posted it. I need to check when I am home. I could have sworn mine was positive, which means I was acute and went chronic (either that or I am being treated as chronic for an acute case). I'm intrigued now!
Luckil, welcome to the forum and sorry you are here as well for the disease which we all suffer from. I'd like to answer some of your questions.
Like you, I had RAPID weight loss. 215bs to 185lbs in a matter of 2-3 weeks time. It was hard. I also had extreme loss of appetite during this time too, which probably contributed to the weight loss. My GI doctor swore up and down it was due to "stress" but I never felt stress out. I felt like DEATH. This was something very new to me.
That being said, the weight did come back as my appetite came back and also got back to normal during my treatment process. I am back up to 215lbs (actually, it was 209lbs the other day as I am trying to lose weight a healthy way!) I just kept eating to get myself back to where I was.
So despite what some are saying in here, it does happen. I have read on other forums that this happens as well. It's mainly common with those who have an acute active virus inside of them. For whatever reason, it's thought that I had chronic virus that went active.
I hope this helps. Just be patient and keep following doctor's orders. And also, if you are second guessing a doctor, do not hesitate to get a second opinion from a specialist!
Hbv is not responsible for thrombocytopenia. U must have got some other haemolytic infection last year (doctor should have done investigations) or there might be severe nutritional deficiency to which ur smoking and drinking habbits had contributed.
Now possibility of hbv damaging ur liver can also not b ruled out which is definitely a cause for low platelets(but in cases of cirrhosis). So better get ur complete hbv lab tests done to assess ur condition and start medications if needed and save ur future.
Platelet count only less than 100000 is clinically significant.
before 80,000/µl. thrompocytopenia after 1year 170,000/µl. i read one study which relates thrombocytopenia and chronic hbv( dont have the link). i suspect if this suggest i have the virus already.
thank you steff2011 and Jatashankar i dont even know strong immunity and acute case can lead to waight loss but i blame ever thing for this virus coz before my diagnosis my appetite was good. i didnt have nusea but now this is part of me now. for two weeks now i have burning feet, i dont know if these tells anything serious. the only diagnasis i have other than hbag is hiv and hcv both negative. my CBC is within normal range but i got hight Hg level .my lyphocyce count is 22. my platelet is 170 before one year i was diagnosed as thrombocytopenia i got around 80 anything wrong? your comment plz.
Hi Stef,
I was wondering how come Acute infection can go off with 10.000iu of vit d3 and liposomal vit c daily and why not Chronic Hepatitis B? Just I was trying to understand what makes in HBV behavior if it stays more than 6 months in the body? As per my understanding it should behave same when we are chronically infected and acutely infected?
It's for my understanding. Thanks.
What is liposomal vit c?
Any brand name?
Not now during your life?
now if you have hbcab igm negative you always had it from childhood, if positive you just got it and your immune system will clear it 97,5%
if yourimmune system is damaged by unhealthy lifestyle well take 10.000iu of vit d3 daily, take liposomal vit c and this should help relair it for acute infections only
I checked it was HBag positive
HBv doesn tcause weight loss, did you ever check it if positive?it gets chronic at birth, not as an adult
A strong immune response may turn into weight loss but this is general for anything
If hbsag is on the decline wakt for it to stop decline, ideally you should reach less than 1000iu ml, then pegintf add on has the highest chances to clear hbsag
hey steff how r u .i got my new results today dna undetectable, hbsag 1696 iu.fibroscan normal.sgot45,sgpt 29.i m on baraclude and vit d. what else i can take to reduce hbsag
Hbv doesn't causes weight loss unless the infection is active as in acute phase. U seem to be chronic now check ur hbeag and anti hbcigM. This will confirm u r chronic if igM is neg.
For weight loss ur smoking habbit is responsible which causes cachexia. Improve ur diet.
Ohk.. Buh is there a way to put on weight again and do u have bad breath and bad tasye in mouth. Am freaking out
HBV causes waight loss i have lost almost 4 kg. according to my BMI i was already underwaight and this infection made even worse. i think underwaight is why i have failed to clear hbsag.
