I was pretty well done with the attitude last week and was told a little while ago that it will cost me $25 to have my records transferred.
How crappy is that? Don't you pay for your medical records with the testing, I mean they are YOUR records how DARE they charge you to transfer them that really makes me mad! I don't remember ever being charged for it but at this point it sounds like getting a better medical group is worth it.
Sorry you didn't clear. I had almost the exact same count at week 4 and remember the disappointment.
The numbers on your lymphs and neutophils are percents of white blood cells. So 47% of your WBC are lymphocytes and 44% are neutrophils. The rest are monocytes with a nfew Eos and Basos (whatever those are) thrown in.
AS others have said, your ANC (absolute neutrophils) are great so far. Good luck to you on the journey. How much ribavirin are you taking?
frijole
2154 is almost nothing. It could have been gone by the next day after you had the blood test done.
Your WBC is a little below normal....but it doesn't matter how low your white cells are as long as your NEUTROPHILS are okay.
Neutrophils are white cells that defend you against BACTERIAL infections like sinus, wound, and urine infections. Normal is >40. Since yours are 44, that means you're okay (lymphocytes defend you against VIRAL infections and yours are okay).
(When the count falls below 40 then you look at the absolute neutrophil count which is what jmjm530 is talking about)
I have an appointment with a new dr. on Tuesday of next week, because I really can't believe that I am paying so much money for this tx and am being treated in such an off-handed manner. I was pretty well done with the attitude last week and was told a little while ago that it will cost me $25 to have my records transferred. lol My first GI didn't charge anything to transfer records. Thanks everyone for your input and encouraging words. I will check out that website.
Warmly,
Wilful
Hey you! I didn't get to und until between 12 and 24 and I STILL beat the stupid disease - what you getting disappointed about??? :)
Your numbers are fine - like Jim said mine went down to under .5 but my doc wouldn't give me neup he said wait and see and yup they went right back up. It's more the hemo number that continues to drop steadily unless you get the procrit but you don't need to worry about THAT until it gets down underneath 10 pretty much.
You'll learn in no time which lab numbers are important and which don't really matter that much. your hemo is the biggie and your neuts - cause they are something you can do something about and that is a good thing.
What was your starting VL? I can never remember those type things.
and seriously I'd start looking for a team that WOULD call you back. Mine called me straight away and it was important to me that they do. I mean to me nobody's care was as important as MINE and they well had better have known it ;)

This is a great site to help figure tings out, Also on your lab report, things Hemo Absolute neuts, should show you a range,
Sounds like my first NP who made it clear she's personally treating close to 200 patients and hardly had time to do the basics. Nice but overworked young lady. I switched medical teams a week later and ended up in a group that was more responsive.
I haven't heard anything from the NP. I did leave a message because on the lab sheet it told me what was high and low. Phone rang the NP can't call me back but told the secretary that she would touch base with me in two weeks. Everything is fine. I swear the woman hates me!
<neuts are kinda low,is your doc gonna put you on Neupogen
---------------------------
1.4 is not considered low on treatment. Many liver specialists don't even start getting concerned unless Neut Abs falls below .5. Mine dropped to .32 and my medical team still didn't think it warranted Neupogen.
4 wks and a decreased vl is good news!!! i was told that as long as you drop 2 zero's in the 3rd month and clear by the 6th month, you can stay on tx and have a chance of clearing.
your wbcs are pretty high (above 5 is normal), i'm jealous
neuts are kinda low, is your doc gonna put you on Neupogen?
