I'm quite certain I've posted this but I'm not certain and don't feel like digging.

My 12 week post was undetectable (GS 7977/BMS790052)

Thanks again for everything UKgirl...

Hi, want to chime in with Rivil, it is normal for the AST and ALT to flucuate post tx, it will normalize.
You are doing great :)

No, your enzymes are within normal range. As OH said, they fluctuate a bit. Avoid toxic substance (breathing in bleach fumes, for example) eat well and drink a lot of water and they will probably go down. Even so remember the numbers are normal.

Fran,

Try to keep a positive attitude.  At this point, you do not know if your treatment outcome has been adversly affected.  The 12 wk PCR will give you a good indication whether the inf & riba are effectively suppressing the virus.  Because you stopped the Incivek at wk 8, has your clinic disccussed doing a full 48 wks of inf & riba if you are undeteced at wk 12?
In my opinion, that would enhance (not guarantee)  the chance of SVR.

What medical school hepatology center did you do this study? I am new to this forum. I am on the triple therapy invcivek started july 15.  Last friday was end of my eight week of treatment and doctor stopped my incivek due to rash. I am still on riba-800mg/day and interferon and procrit. I am really bummed because I know my SVR will now be adversely affected and I could have treatment failure. Und at week 3 genotype1a. When do you think this new drug will be out ? I am taking my treatment now through the Univ of Rochester in rochester,ny. at their hepatology center. Dr. Maliakkal is my hepatologist. My stage is 2. My viral load was 11.8mil when started. I feell so discouraged.  Fran b

BTB, the side effects were modest - mostly occasional fatigue, a spaced out feeling for a few hours after taking the meds in the morning, and the need to eat large lunches to stave off queasiness. I kept a pretty detailed journal describing my physical and emotional experiences on the treatment, especially in the early weeks. It's intended to be helpful to anyone doing this brilliant treatment in the future.

Great news!

Did you have any side effects of treatment?  Do you have any words of wisdom for those who might do treatment in GS 7977/GS5885 study going forward?

The good news is that it's not the same compound as Gilead's nuc and more good news is that Abbott have had great success with their all orals.
Definitely a shame about BMS drug, but gotta keep postitive for what's still out there.

bad news on a Bristol Myers n all oral treatment...BMS-986094, Bristol-Myers

Despite paying big money for BMS-986094, Bristol-Myers has suspended testing on this experimental medicine for Hepatitis C after one person developed heart failure and eight others were hospitalized.

Bristol-Myers Drops Hepatitis C Drug After Patient Death

Bloomberg News

By Ryan Flinn on August 24, 2012

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) has abandoned an experimental hepatitis C pill it bought for $2.5 billion earlier this year after one patient died and others were hospitalized while taking the drug in a study.

Bristol-Myers will take a charge of $1.8 billion in the third quarter related to research and development of the therapy, the New York-based company said in a regulatory filing today. The drugmaker suspended testing the medicine, known as BMS-986094, on Aug. 1 after a patient developed heart failure.

We are all happy for you and will be even happier if we can convince Gilead Sciences and Bristol-Myers to resume collaboration with this life-saving drug combination of GS-7977 (now named sofosbuvir) and daclatasvir (formerly BMS-790052)...

Petition update: 6595 have signed.

Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend and urge you to keep asking everyone you know to sign this petition.

Warmest regards,
Margaret
