Wow, thank you for all the wonderful feedback. I haven't been on much since I started tx but am having a hard time doing much at the moment and wanted to come and update some information. Oddly enough I was more itchy the first week, since the second week, nothing, well barely anything anyways. It's the oddest thing because itching was the story for my life for a long time before I went on the treatment and now its seems to be simmering down?

Everyone above has given great advice, I used atarax, but sometimes it did not work so I froze wash cloths and put them on the worst spots. Plus I could use them to scratch :) without scarring myself.
It would numb the nerves.
I got what I call convulsive itching that would go on for hours, it was awful.
A couple of times I just took a sleeping pill so I could be knocked out, when I woke it was gone.
Good luck

I was OK with over the counter antihistamines for my itch, but get onto this early. As Pooh mentioned, the itch is one thing and the rashes are another.
And the rashes need to be jumped on ASAP with prescription ointments etc. Don't sit and watch the strange rashes for a few days. They can spiral out of control.
The sun and heat in general, aggravates the itch and the rashes.
I sometimes put a wet facewasher in a plastic bag in the fridge to tackle the prickly itch.
Good luck, and know any question is not too stupid that someone won't respond. we have or are treating with the same  or similar meds. Though I'm not sure what you are taking. Are you on triple therapy? Which drugs? How long will you treat? This information helps those who have treated or who are on the same treatment to help you better.
