At this link there is a study with some very interesting stats:
http://www.natap.org/2009/EASL/EASL_77.htm
Notice figure 3 and 4. It shows greater SVR rates for those who complied 100%. That is people who completed their assigned treatment irrespective of dose reductions. Other factors were VL, speed of response and length of TX. For patients with ALL favorable predictors they were getting 100% SVR
1A finished treating in August 2006 and SVR (cured). Cure rate statistics are based on all kind of things like damage, genotype, weight, age, etc. There is great information on the janis site. www.janis7hepc.com
Hi there and I am a 1b and cleared over two years ago with interferon & Riba...I have a PCR every 6 months to check I am still clear as my hubby has HepC he is geno 1a...Px
If you equate cured with SVR or being UND I have been cured for over a yr.Geno 1,interferon + ribavirin. Most stats are 48%.Whats unclear are the reasons for failed TX,as in uncompleted TX or non response etc.
Its too soon to know if I am cured but I'm a 1b and cleared the virus before the 1 week PCR. It's because I had a low viral load to begin with. A weird and very good thing that goes with being 1b. See the post "To treat or not" by carmencita. I just finished treating so won't be positive about SVR until after the 6 mo. post-TX PCR. I have an embarrassing amount of confidence that I will SVR with that dramatic early response.
