CURED!

Hello, it's been several weeks since I've been on but I'm happy to report that my 12 week post tx shows I'm cleared of the virus. I had GT2 and took SOL/RIBA for 12 weeks. So happy! I am on a continuous journey to get healthy. 4 weeks post tx blood work show my AST 32 and ALT 31 but my 12 week post treatment bloodwork shows ALT elevated to 38. Doctor says I have Fatty Liver (30% of my liver is fat, gross!) so he put me on a NASH diet. NASH stands for Non Alcohol Steato Hepatitis. Basically staying away from sugar, anything white like breads and fruits high in sugar. Other than that I feel great. I started doing cross fit 2x/week and have so much energy now. I feel so blessed. Now I just have to work on getting that fat out of my liver. I want to thank you all for your support over these last 7 months. This is a great forum and I don't know how I would have survived this journey without everyone's support. God Bless and may everyone one of attain SVR!

Welcome to the SVR group. I just achieved SVR myself early last month, and the novelty still hasn't worn off. I almost feel like I'm saying it as part of most of my comments on here lately, people are going to get sick of me. Since then I've kind of been on a rejuvenation kick myself which includes trying not to eat too much crap, lose some weight, and make sure I get some cardio in 4 to 5 times a week. I feel good right now, and getting better. Congrats.

Congratulations! Funny how once cured there is still more work to be done on the damage left behind. Great to hear you are tackling it nicely.
Could another name for that diet be "Gluten Free"?

Success stories are so common here now!  A few years ago, when I treated, this forum was full of hopeless people who were dying.  Congratulations to you and everyone.

Also, don't forget to post your SVR.

Hep C Free....What wonderful words!

So glad your diet is working for you.  I am avoiding sugar, didn't know about anything white ( breads, etc.). I may borrow your Dr's suggestion to help get rid of the fat in my liver.

Blessings!
