WHAT GAY MEN NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HEPATITIS C
http://www.cdph.ca.gov/programs/Documents/HepC_msm_projectinform.pdf
No I had homosexual intercourse unprotected. Is it risky for hep C?
Dunno about valtrex or it's effect on test results but as it was not six months yet it can take up to that long for antibodies to develop enough to have a positive result,
Did you have a blood to blood contact with someone who has hep c?
okay it is good to know. I got tested for Hepatitis C and other 55 days ago. It is negative. But I used Valtrex 55days ago. So I heard that valtrex affects hepatitis test results. It can be false negative. is it correct?
Have a nice day...
Hi
http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/c/cfaq.htm
I don't understand your question "Well do antiviral drugs affect the hepatitis test results?"
As far as I know either you test positive for the hep c virus or you do not. For time frame positive results may be obtained as little as a few weeks after exposure but most all if they have been exposed to hep c will test positive by six months. So if you test after six months and are negative you are in the clear.
Hep c is transmitted by blood to blood contact i.e. drug injection needles or even possibly by sharing razors or fingernail clippers. Some people were infected by blood transfusions years ago before screening was available.
As far as hep b you should ask that in a hep b group page.
Good luck
