First treatment

Hey Guys,
Just letting you know that I had my first tx yesterday and I have the flu along with the headache etc. About 1 hour after I took it I had a really bad backache. Is that normal? I slept the rest of the day. I'm sensitive to light and noise but other than that I'm handling it well. Gonna tke it easy the rest of the weekend. Okay what happens on the next one? Pretty much the same?

I had back pain, leg pain and hip pain bad enough to wake me up for a while along with a 1rst injection high fever, headache, flu thing. The injections after the first one have been much better although I certainly wouldn't call it great. Of course you know one person's experience doesn't determine another's. I wish you the best and success with treatment-Dave

I found that on my second shot on, I got more and more used to the meds and their effects.  I have done 3 rounds by the way.  But what you and your body will do is different than what I did.

but do drink plenty of water and a sports drink or two to replenish electrolytes that allthe water fulsehes out.

There are no simple answers about anything related to HepC or its treatment. Your experience will be unique to anyone else. Flu like symptoms are probably the most common. I hope your side effects are not bad for you and ease up. I just kept telling myself that symptoms mean I'm killing that virus.

Glad to hear you are through your first injection. Things should ease up throughout today. You will probably just feel out of sorts. Remember to drink PLENTY of water...it will ease all your side effects. I have found each shot to have gotten easier. I get a headache sometimes but water helps!

Good job - you are on your way to a Hep free life!
