Your first test that you had that they said the result was in"the grey area" most likely was the HCV antibodies test"
What it could have said is that you had a "weak positive".
There is a good chance if that was the case it was a "false positive"
The initial antibodies test done is very sensitive for any antibody in the blood and can sometimes cross -react withI antibodies to other conditions,,therfore you can get a false positive
The PCR the doctor correctly ordered will confirm if this is the case and can rule out active HCV infection.
