I think that would be a good plan to see your doctor about another liver biopsy. You want to know what stage your liver is at in relation to your Hepatitis C regardless of blood tests. You're on a need to know bases -
you have hepatitis C. Tell your doctor you want a biopsy it's been 5 years.
let us know the results.

Last time I had a liver biop was 5 yrs ago. I need to see my doctor and maybe have another one done. The nurse when I called said that the Doctor will decide if another biop should be done according to my blood test, which I know is the same as it always was. Tired of being worried.
It doesn't effect your hepatitis C.
C Diff is an unrelated bacterial infection.
C Diff is a common bacterial infection gotten by people who take a lot of antibiotics because antibiotics kill off good germs as well as bad. Also the elderly and those with suppressed immune systems, such as transplant patients, are more likely to be infected.
It is usually found in hospitals and passed on the hands of health care workers. Many leading hospitals now have hand hygiene programs for staff to prevent the spread of viruses, bacteria and fungus.
Good luck.

I dont think that having c.diff will effect your Hep C, as in: making it worse, but when you go to your Doctor, and he prescribes a medicine for you, always remind him that you have Hep C,and ask if the med is "liver friendly". Some antibiotics are more liver friendly than others, and other categories of medicines that goes for also.
Never assume the Doctor will remember everything about us, they see many patients per day, and better safe then sorry.
You were in the hospital for having a c.diff infection from taking broad spectrum antibiotics. You want to know how it effects you Hepatitis C?
Your c.diff is a different issue than Hepatitis C. That's like asking how does my broken leg effect my thyroid. Have you had liver biopsy to find out
your current status related to hepatitis C? That would be a good way to determine how your body is changing due to your hepatitis C.

I recently finished taking meds on Hep C clinical trial about 3 mos ago. (Did they work? Don't know yet, but that's another thread.) I got a cut on my leg about 1 mo ago. It got really infected. I have a history of MRSA and the infection was looking just like that. So, although I wasn't specifically tested for MRSA, my doc agreed that it looked like MRSA and since I had it before, he put me on a whole bunch of Bactrim, like 3200 mg/day. I already had all kinds of "back door" problems going on from the HepC and possibly further aggravated by the trial meds. Bactrim really exacerbated those problems big time. My use of Bactrim wasn't what I would call "prolonged", either. But it really jacked me up, they pulled me off it. Just dropped off lab specimens today to check for, among other things, C.Diff. today, too. So, it doesn't surprise me that you might have gotten C.Diff. It will make your already annoying existing digestive tract issues a lot more annoying.
I am not entirely sure I understand what you are asking. You might get C. difficile disease if you have an illness that requires prolonged use of antibiotics. Increasingly, the disease can also be spread in the hospital.
What do you mean you were in hospital due to your Hepatitis C. Could you perhaps fill in some of the blanks in order for others to taper a response based on your own particular situation?
Factors such a what Genotype you are, what stage of fibrosis you arem past treatment response (if you have you treated before) and how is your overall health might help.
