I'll tell ya..for a short period of time I too did not drink much water. I got very ill....and scratched myself to the point of bleeding (feet). I stayed in bed and felt soooo sick...couldn't think straight. I can't even remember the other symtoms and I don't know if it had to do with the flu shot or the last hep b vaccination..but, I know that I was dehydrated and I never want to feel that bad again...so that keeps me drinkin'
That you have bottomed out pressure wise and ended up in ER should be a good reminder to drink. I use a Pure water filter on my faucet and keep my water in a big glass jug in fridge...makin' myself thirsty!
ps: I am lookin' for a job....that doesnt seem too strenuous! Do u offer health benefits? lol
I also drink using my favorite crystal glass....if that helps...?
every hour drink one glass of water. so you will probably have to work up to that, bring a bottle w/ your alloted amount then at the end of the day you can see how you're doing. I understand its difficult.... especially if your busy. I used to be able to do it when I was working and had my own treatment room, but ...... if your moving around from place to place its hard. Try the alloted bottle amount strategy. Mary
I do alot of juice I find it easier and mix it with water. Im not a strict water lover. I keep a bottle of something nearby and ever 15 minutes or so I have a slug. And at some point of the day I do down a couple of glasses of water. So by the end of day I try to get in
8 full glasses of liquids including a glass of skim milk in there too Just spread it out and its not so bad...
Im not finatic with it..some days 8 glass some days 10 thats not including coffee, soup and whatever. You can do it!
Try Crystal Light, have some Carnation instant breakfast, juices, etc.
Doesnt have to be only water.
I know it gets very boring after awhile if your not a liquid person-Im not either.
Just think of it as medicine thats what I do.
Oh yeah I've also found that if you do start drinking lots of water, it gets easier cuz you kinda crave it. you can add cucumber or lemon too. G'luck
Well drinking water is clearly a deliberate habit. It has to be easy to drink, or you will not. I would have a case of water at home and in the car and always have a bottle with me. I agree with everyone that adding a lemon/lime or crystal light. But in any event you have to carry a bottle of water with you all the time to get it in, not wait for a water faucet or sink to get a glass.
I started drinking alot before treatment and feel it has always made me feel and look better. mar
hi, I am probably the last one that should be addressing this, cause I'm only starting...but I'm a big planner, so I've done some things to make this easier...firstly, what I have done for so many years I can't count...is I drink a glass of water, with
about 1/4 (or less) fruit juice, if I juice that day, it's not bottled juice but way better juice...usually cranberry/rasberry, something like that...that's good for you anyway...
I also found drinking a lot of water easier if I didn't have to schlep it all over the place, by buying plastic bottles (I won't do tapwater) or delivered bottled water (expensive) ...what I did was install a counter top filter system, that is VERY easy to install, just takes like one screw...a
nd that way I can get filtered water from my tap...I know of a place that is very economical, and it's really good filtered water, and consistently a Consumer Best Buy....they also have excellent shower filters, which I understand is very good for when you treat and the dry skin, etc...been using shower filters for years for soft skin and hair...all of this is very cheap, cheaper then buying water and better for the planet (not all that plastic, etc.) this place is great...

Thanks for the good ideas. I'll try a few and see if I can't acquire the habit.
jd
how about a habit reminder...like get a permanent marker and a band aid..write drink water on it...then put it on yourself...in an obvious spot where you'll see it often...good luck...billy
forgot to say, if you do go with the filters at that Aquasana, they have these really great tall glass jars that you can put the water in...I plan on filling as many jars as I need to drink per day, and then just make sure I have by the end of the day...good way to know...
What helps me to drink enough water is my wristwatch. It has an alarm function that also beeps every hour on the hour. Whenever it beeps, I stop what I'm doing and drink a glass of water, otherwise I would forget to drink.

I kept water EVERYWHERE. I had it on the night table by my bed, on the desk, the table, in the car, etc. Wherever I went,I brought a bottle of water with me. If its always within hand's reach its easier to guzzle.
Good luck.
1.5 oz of liquid per kg of body weight daily is adequate while being safe
