Hi I am like Cean in that I lost about 80% of my and like Hawk in that I am getting my hair back after finishing tx a year ago.I would wait to bleach it if I were you.  There are some good vegetable dyes and Herbatints which I think Bo used.  I have used as well.  I lost so much hair there wasn't much to dye so I left it alone until 3 months after tx.
Good luck to you

Hi! Thank you I did not bleach my hair. It looks healthy but is brittle so I decided against it. Anyway I am not sure what week I am on. Maybe 13th? Time moves too slow when I count.

I finished treatment almost one year ago. I lost a good 75% of my hair but it's back~ thick and wild.

Do not use any harsh chemicals while on treament. Use gentle hair products, ideally to add moisture, not to further dry it out. If you don't like the way you look, consider a wig, hats, scarves or my favorite, avoid the mirror.

I too was told not to straighten my hair or any thing else during treatment.  Did I listen no......I relaxed my hair right around week 8 or 9 of treatment.  No problems yet.  I've decided that if it all falls out, I will shave the head, throw on some makeup and super big earrings and call it a day.  Just cant worry about hair right now.  It will grow back.

The interferon can cause a little or a lot of hair loss, and there is no way to predict which category you will be in.  Even if the loss is small now, it might become more profound later in tx. As one who lost a lot (70-80%), I would advise against doing anything that could possibly add to that hair loss. Coloring, bleaching, straightening and waving can all cause some hair loss through breakage, so any of those will add to your risk of seeming more bald. In addition, many people experience a lot of rashes and/or increased skin sensitivity while on these meds. The chemicals used in any kind of hair changes may be too much for your newly sensitized skin. It would be taking a big risk.

I'm in my 20th week of triple tx with peg, RIBA and incevik. My hair was lightly shedding in the beginning but has recently picked up steam. I've been going to the same colorist for 20 years and she has been able to color my hair gently throughout. NO bleach. Where are you in tx and what are you taking?
