So I went to get my nails done and the lady nicked me with either the nail filer or one of her metal instruments however I didn’t bleed, although I could kind of seem like my skin was broken is it possible that Hep c be transmitted this way!?

I have no idea how I contracted HepC, not being a drug user or promiscuous.  In fact, my experience is common.  But in your case, not to worry:  Get tested in a few months (not right away, as the test requires the formation of antibodies).  If it is positive, today's treatments are short, easy, and amazingly successful.

Open wound ie fresh wet weeping not a superficial scratch. Only about 4% or less of the population has hep c with the number decreasing all the time as nor hep c is essentially curable in most cases. So your odds of randomly encountering someone with hep c is small. Add to that hep c is not easily transmitted it requires blood to blood contact. The most common methods of transmission is sharing IV drug needles or having a blood transfusion prior to 1990 when hep c antibody testing was developed and the blood supply secured.

Thanks for your response! It’s just that google says that even open skin can be a gateway for hep c to be transmitted):
An open wound is a bleeding injury. A superficial scratch is not an open wound. An open wound will allow entry to your blood stream this cannot happen if the scratch is not to the depth to cause bleeding.
