Sorry, one last question: was my negative antibody test at 4 weeks meaningless?
Thanks,
Dan

If you tested negative, then you don't have HepC. Nothing is meaningless as far as testing goes. You are not infected and you can go on with your life.
sorry missed the part where someone said it was

I really appreciate your replies-I'm obviously worried, but much relieved thanks to your answers. I think I'll man up and get this RNA bt PCR test. Till then, I'd like to go with Trinity's "unknown virus."
Thanks & Happy Holidays,
Dan
Dan, the overwhelming majority of us are asymptomatic for over thirty years of infection; it’s rare to be diagnosed with HCV based on symptoms. If this potential exposure somehow causes you angst, request a ‘HCV RNA by PCR’ test.

Symptomatic would also involve high liver enzymes in the acute stage of hepc. Jaundice and fever can also be present. Sinus problems and muscle weakeness isn't exactly what I would call symptomatic. Sounds like a virus of unknown origin to me.

Thank you-that is helpful. I was hoping that since I was "symptomatic" the neg test at 4 weeks might be a good sign. Thoughts please?
Thanks Again,
Dan
