Herbal Supplements Filled with Fake Ingredients, Investigators find

Another reason to avoid herbs especially during tx.

Study: Many Herbal Supplements Aren't What the Label Sayshttp://abcnews.go.com/Technology/wireStory/ny-attorney-general-targets-popular-herbal-supplements-28686772

"Based on the testing commissioned by his office, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Tuesday he has sent letters to the four major store chains involved — GNC, Target, Walmart and Walgreens — demanding that they immediately stop selling adulterated or mislabeled dietary supplements.

Schneiderman said the supplements pose serious risks. People who have allergies or are taking certain medications can suffer dangerous reactions from herbal concoctions that contain substances not listed on the label, he said."

This was found at established US Retailers. You can just imagine what bs you might get from ordering from the web.

Thank you both for sharing, I appreciate
I started purchasing from Andrew Lessman, he manufacturers his supplements, using Procaps.  While I first started buying them from HSN he also has his own site.

We normally embrace any group that is seeking higher standards and accountability concerning supplements and alternative medicine, but something seemed terribly amiss about Consumer Lab."

Hey there, I just heard about this.  It is disgusting what they are doing to the supplements.  I would like to take mine back.

From what I read, Canada tested 44 supplements back in 2013 and that is what started the investigation in the US.  Too bad they couldn't have taken the data and run with that.  A baby died in CT last year because her doctor gave her probiotics and instead of the probiotics it contained large amounts of yeast.
They tested 24 supplements here..
They found ground up rice, beans, peanuts, wheat, other types of plants, etc.  People could have been having allergic reactions and not known why.

Now I am wondering if the vitamins are vitamins.

Thank you for posting this.
