Hey y'all, remember treatment with Telaprevir. Interferon and Riba?

It cured me although it kicked my butt. Before that it was 18 months of Interferon and Riba and that was like the land of the walking dead.  Lol. No long term side effects from either treatment and very glad to know current treatments are so much better and less invasive.

I did one round with intron alpha 3 shots a week for 6 months no other meds. No luck.

Then later I did pegalated interferon with ribavirin one shot a week for six months no response.

Treated again in a clinical trial interferon ribavirin and a trial medicine still no response.

In 2008 I was diagnosed with cirrhosis so when inciveck was approved they wouldn’t let me try it because of my previous lack of response and having liver cirrhosis.

So yeah I remember interferon and ribavirin really well.

I was finally cured with 24 weeks of Harvoni and ribavirin. Finished treatment in May 2015.

Glad interferon worked for you and happy we’re in a new age of treatment for hep c

I did 48 weeks of interferon/ribavirin in 2006 and land of the living dead is correct!  It was awful and then I relapsed.  But in 2017 12 weeks of Harvoni worked and I was cured.  Almost no side effects.  So glad that these new drugs are tolerable and actually work!
Amen to that!  Glad it worked out for you.
