When can I stop drinking all of this water?

Hi everyone... I'm 8 weeks post tx and I'm really starting to get tired of drinking all off this water. I'm getting up every two hours at night to urinate and that's causing me not to sleep too well (I think, maybe it's the Riba still in my system).

I'm going on a 400 mile drive for Thanksgiving (about 12 days from now) and I can just tell I'll be pulling over at every rest stop I see if I continue forcing down all of this water. Thanks.

I was just reading your profile... Congrats to you on finishing tx. Geez... 48 weeks is a grind. My last tx (10 years ago) I was suppose to do 48 weeks and I stopped at 30 weeks... I was ticking everybody off that was around me.

If you read my profile... you'll see I was UND. I probably put too much info in my profile but I'm not not going to prune it down now.

How did my tx go? I guess I did fairly well since I made it all the way to the end without dose reductions or interruptions. I had many sides but it's becoming harder to remember them all since finishing up. I know during the incivek weeks I was out of it. Napping every day after lunch and then being woken up by an alarm clock to eat fat and take my next pills. I remember roids, rashes, headaches, breathing problems, etc.  It got better after incivek for a few weeks but the rashes and headaches didn't go away and I had dry skin problems that seemed to get worst every day. At the end I struggled with super dry hands and feet (bottom side only).

Today is exactly 8 weeks post tx for me. My 24/7 headaches are gone and my dry skin problems are mostly gone. I think I even have some hair growing back now (not sure).

Anyway... good luck on your SVR. I having a PCR on 12/7/2012. The other day I almost picked up the phone and was going to order up a PCR for today but decided I'll wait. I don't want to know if the virus is back before Thanksgiving (I have no reason to think it is).

Take care.

Congrats on finishing up.  How did treatment go?  Were you UND at the end?

I inadvertently stopped drinking a lot of water shortly after finishing TX.  I think it was not having to take pills 5x a day (I took 12+ oz water each time).  I realized after a couple of weeks that I felt dehydrated and had to increase the amount I was drinking.  I think the only advantage in drinking excess water after tx is to help cleanse the body of the evil ribavirin.  As everyone else said, try to continue to drink water but I certainly would not worry about it for your trip.

Cheppie and boc... thanks for the input.

Stormy... thanks and I'm feeling pretty darn good right now. Just have some sleep problems (that I mentioned earlier).

You're OK to scale back on the water intake.  That doesn't mean stop drinking water, of course, but Cheppie's right, stop drinking before bed and just sip water while you're on your trip.  Hope you're feeling much better now that you're 8 weeks out.

Hi Mike, I stopped drinking as much water right away. It have found that sipping the water, at regular intervals thru-out the day, but then stopping right after dinner-time, to avoid the late night pee trips, but I did that prior to Treating, also.

Don't drink water right before bed or the trip.  Drink water right when you
get up or after the trip.   You should drink 8 glasses of water everyday
even if your haven't been through treatment.
