Well, just keep on going. We can't reinforce how important it is to do all of this medicine and at the times prescibed. It is one of the hardest things about this treatment. But like bo girl said, it is especially important to do that victrelis every 8 hours. It has a very short half-life and you only have a one-hour leeway on it. Get a system to stay on track. With the ribavirin you have a little more flexibility but you still must do the two a day.
infantry - the whole point is you don't want to do this again. With a UND at week 4 you have a great chance at achieving the goal - sustained viral response (SVR). But don't get caught in the trap of thinking that since the tests come out undetectable, you can quit. You can't. You must complete the entire treatment, which should be 28 weeks for you (although I am still confused as to whether you did a lead-in).

The only thing you should do is stay the course. Maybe there were no HCV variants formed and/or maybe your immune system will still fight them off. It was good your VL was low and then UND. I think it'll be okay but don't screw up again.
Missing one day should not alter your hemoglobin in any way.
Get back on the meds and STAY THERE. I know people miss doses but not two in one day. You must have been sick or sleeping - make sure you set an alarm!
Hemoglobin will usually bounce around during tx, mine had an initial drop then climbed back up after my body started adjusting to the meds, from there on out it bounced between the 10's and low 11's so fluctuation on your own can't be ruled out, as far as missing a day of boceprevir, it is not an ideal situation but continue on with tx and your viral load tests will tell the story.
Okay, well, these meds, the Boceprevir and the Ribaviran pills, knock down our hemoglobin steadily, as they build up in our system, so the hgb gets lower. Yours went up, by 1-2 points, which is sometimes a clue that the riba pills are being lowered by the patient, and also the Boceprevir.
You may have renderd yourself tolerant to the Boceprevir, because it kills the virus off, but after 8 hrs of no Boceprevir in your system, the virus can come back, a new and stronger strain, which wont be effected by the Boceprevir. But this also may not happen, so continue with your Treatment, and dont ever make that mistake again. These meds are hard on your body, so this is nothing to play around with, this is your health at stake.
Hi Infantry! Do you have a copy of your lab reports? If so could you type them on here? That would help us out here.
She was probably wondering if you missed any Riba if your HGB went up.
Jules
yes i know i dont know alot about this, my doctor said that from my hemoglobin because it went up 1-2 thats when she asked if i missed any becuase the blood work was showing i was. i dont know :(
I am not understanding a few things so give me some more information. And, welcome to the forum. There are some great people here and lots of support.
I missed a full day of my boceprevir
This is not a good thing to do and I hope it will not happen again, but you should continue treatment and everything should be fine.
and i am wondering before treatment my viral load was only 2,000 1 month into triple treatment it is down 0,
This is great news but I have questions. Did you do interferon and ribavirin first for 4 weeks and then start the Victrelis (boceprevir) or were you undetectible at 4 weeks of only interferon and ribavirin? If it is just week 4 are you sure you are on the victrelis yet? Sorry, I don't mean to insult you but unless you are in a trial I am unaware of, victrelis always has the 4-week lead in so I am wondering if it is the ribavirin you missed.
now my question is they might think now i could be immune to the treatment,
They, meaning the doctors think you have immunity to the treatment drugs because you are undetectible? That does not make any sense. If you had developed immunity (or resistance) to the drugs, you would have detectable virus.
they almost stopped the medicine because they are thinking i ****** up to bad,
Again, why? I know of no medical team that would threaten to stop treatment because you missed a dose or two.
now my question is how will they find out just took my peg-inferion and instatnly feel sick as **** .
What are you asking or saying? Most of us feel bad after taking interferon but we do what we must and they cannot find out you didn't take a dose unless you tell them.
oh and they said my hemoglobin was in the 1-2 range thats how they could tell i missed a day .
Again, I am not understanding. What is the 1-2 range? I realized you are young but it would be a good idea not to just rely on what "they" say and get copies of all of this labwork. I am not familiar with the 1-2 range. Normal hemoglobin levels for men are about 14-18. If you did have a 1-2 they would be rolling you into the hospital for a transfusion. In addition it is the victrelis and ribavirin that decrease your hemoglobin. Why would they say you have missed a dose? Perhaps they said your hemoglobin dropped 1-2 points. That would be normal for treatment and would make you feel like you have no energy.

(I completed 48 weeks, 44 with victrelis (boceprevir)
