Food and TX drugs

Simple question...i wonder why the study trials and Doctors dont keep track of the foods we eat with our drugs....maybe some people are not getting the right amounts of fat in order for the drugs to proberly absorb in the body...other factors that may effect if we get SVR is stress and how this affects the outcome...for all we know the chemicails intap water may affect the TX drugs

I think the answer is $ as to why we're not monitored more as there are no 'medical trials' to show what foods/supplements have an affect on interferon.

The one thing they are sure of is that if we don't eat enough on tx our bloods are more likely to plummet so to advise any patients on what to eat/not to eat may entice some of us to be so fanatical as to not get enough food into us at all (especially when we're going through tx and prone to being a little neurotic at times).   Thus the 'follow a healthy diet'.

I will add, that when my ALT's rose on week 4,  and my nurse couldn't come up with a reason, I mentioned "I might as well go and eat fish and chips then".   Her reaction was "you most certainly will not".  I was just winding her up;  I was being very 'liver friendly' with my diet, but I hadn't been advised on diet by the medical team.
