Hcv genotype Lipa, genotype 2b. RNA ON TMA >7500. AND > 3.88. Still no viral load. What does all that mean? Its all French to me. But none the less... Happy Birthday to me! And almost lost my dad last night ad well :((
Yes that is correct! My Dr is sending me to St Davids in Austin Texas Research Clinic. He said they're some of the best of the best. I guess time will tell. I'll go and have my viral load done there and biopsy if needed. They're starting a new clinical trial in February so if I meet the criteria I'll be able to start treatment right away. Starting to feel like I might just be a guinea pig LOL but I've gotta start somewhere I guess!!! We'll see :)
You are right it does not give a viral load since this is confirmatory testing for presence of the virus in your blood. LiPA is the assay (or test) that was used to determine your Genotype by Quest. "RNA by TMA" I think just means another way to target detection of RNA by Quest. Since your viral load was within the detection limits stated on the test another test was performed to determine your genotype
You are Genotype 2b
I think (*think) the numbers stated is the range of detection and yours is above or within the range
>7500 H 10 /ML (or >3.88 LOG IU/ML)
You would need a PCR to determine your actual viral load.
I am sure someone else will post to clarify this.
I constantly hear Genotype 2b is considered "easy to treat" due to the favorable response to Interferon. Here is a short blurb about it:
