Recently diagnosed in 7-11, I for one have cooked almost every meal for my wife and two children for 18 years, all along while infected with HCV. I know there is more than once where I have sliced a finger while chopping onions or something. All tested negative for HCV. My children still "even after knowing" their father is infected, continue to drink after me, want me to cook for them and kiss me. They have done their research and are convinced I am not a "monster" like I am portrayed to be by the average person. Go ahead and start flippin them burgers! Good luck!
Many of us had families that we cooked for for years and years before we knew we had HCV, it doesn't spread that way. I was in the food industry for 30 years. Go get your burger van and make some dough.

Solely by statistics, every 1-2% of food handlers has Hep C. First off, it's not possible to know who does and doesn't for all of them. Second, it's not illegal. You take the first line of defense which is to be careful with any blood accidents and wear gloves. Now go open that truck. I'm starving!
There is no evidence that people can get Hepatitis C from food handlers or other service providers without blood-to-blood contact. You might be thinking about Hep A.
