Patient

Tomorrow is my last day to be on the incivek. It has been miserable with the itching.  Nothing seems to work for long periods.  How long after I stop taking Incivek will the itching stop?

My husband's rash improved significantly after he stopped taking Incivek.  He still had some rash, drying, and peeling from Ribavirin, but much less than when he was on Incivek.  He had a prescription for Hydroxyzine, and he also had a prescription for Triamcinilone ointment.  He used Eucerin body wash in the shower, and Eucerin lotion after showering.

Welcome to the forum.

The itching may gradually stop after finishing Incivek, but the itching could be from the Ribavirin. If so, it may continue. Mine did.

Have you tried Hydroxyzine? I finally got the rash and itching under control with oral Hydroxyzine 50 mg every 6 hours (presecription). It was he!l before that. I also use clobetesol soln. and fluocinonide ointment (prescription steroid topicals) as needed.

I hope you get some relief soon.
