Yes tx can have an impact. Try and not worry for now. After you are off tx i am sure the real numbers will normalize. It will probably take at least 3 months after tx. Just hang in there....(easy for me to say huh).
Thank you Jules
Well, the spleen can get bigger in lymphoma and also in hep c
I think for my height, I should have normaly a 10.3+/- 1.3 cm
But I was not sure if tx can have any impact. I really hoped that it will be smaller, at 12 at least after 35 weeks of tx
But we will see at the end how it will go: 13 shots but 14 weeks of Riba. Still at 135 Interferon
I just looked it up , mine seems to be small. I think yours sounds normal. Don't worry!!! I'll go back and read more. Im on an iPad and this things getting to hard to use for referring web sites.
You should read about the relationship with Lymphoma and the Spleen. I have been ther so i know what you are going through.
Thanks Kitty
Great, 10.6cm at stage 4, well it might mean that my 12.7cm is still from the lymphoma
Since I started tx is the same size
Before tx was 13.2cm, so a slight decrease. I was hoping it will go down more but at least is stable...
I just had a look to a study in healthy athlets and it seems that taller people have a slightly bigger spleen
Hi Diana! I get one every 6 months also (stage 4 cirrhosis/compensated). My US report says:
The spleen appears normal. It measures 10.6 cm in length.
Hope that helped! Congrats on 13shots to go!!!! :) Kitty
what is a normal spleen? Mine today was 12.7cm
Hmm I will ask why they have not done one US every six months for me as well
i get an US every 6 months whether i am treating or not. once i hit stage 3f, they do a tumor hunt every 6 months. my last US showed 2 white spots on my liver, a dilated bile duct, and cyst on my left kidney. spleen was normal
