RAISED SGOT/SGPT LEVELS FOR LAST TWO YEARS POST TREATMENT FOR HEP C . REMEDY...??

I AM A PATIENT OF HEP C . DETECTED IN AUG 2006. TREATED WITH PEG INTERFERON A2B PLUS RIBAVIRIN FOR 6MONTHS. ATTAINED SVR AND ETR. BUT MY LIVER ENZYMES ARE RAISED FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS POST TREATMENT. OT/PT LEVELS ARE 62/139. AM OVERWEIGHT AND TRIGLYCERIDES LEVELS HAVE  ALSO STARTED RISING AND ARE PRESENTLY VERY HIGH AT 545.PLEASE SUGGEST....REMEDY...

I think you do first need to have an hcv rna test as suggested above.  Did you have any tests post tx at six months and a year, or?

Have you had a recent HCV/RNA done to make sure you are still undetected? It is very rare to relapse at this late date but it does happen to a very tiny number of people. It's more likely that you have what is called metabolic syndrome, which raises triglycerides, sometimes liver enzymes, etc. Your primary care doctor should know what to do about this. Some people need to take meds to lower triglycerides. If you are overweight, losing weight can help tremendously to lower those numbers as fatty liver can cause elevations in the lab tests you mention.
