I wounder if this could be what is going on,
I finished Incivek 12days ago have a little more itching (that I would attribute to Incevik) since finishing treatment thought it was just Incevik leaving my body, just kind of tried to ignore it.
Now all of a sudden I got hit with the flaming butt !!!
So I called Incevik 24 hr nurse line and asked why would this be happening now?
First thing she asked was had I dropped my FAT intake a lot since I finished? Well of course I did she said to start my fat intake back up again that Incevik is fat soluble and without it the med has a hard time leaving your system, Was reported by one researcher this could happen but I was the first to call and report it.
I may not be the last,
I would think the itching could be same thing happening just different way of showing it.

Thanks so much for thinking of me and for suggestions.
Glad you are not dealing with the itching any more.  It was just my luck, I thought I had passed the time when it would start :)
Now I know these sx can still get you even on the last day
Thanks again

This is weird. I had low sodium too. Actually on lasix and spirolactelone too. I cut back on water n itching got bad again a few days. It's like fix one thing, stir up another.
I was worried it was RIBA too. But week 16 and itching is almost gone.
Dee - the Atarax or Visteril helped, but made me spacey too. Little bit of children's benedryl, 1% rx cortisone cream, vagisil, lol on my neck? ... ice. Gosh, remember all my crazy posts week 8-10? Mine was worse at night n kept me awake.
Now it's like it never happened. My back n chest was bad. I hope you get some relief. I really saw it change w water and with finishing Incivik.
Hang in there.. Karen :)

I was hospitalized for low sodium so now I use lots of gateraide. You can have seizures with sodium level below 120 where mine was.  I ordered ocean potion since it's not available locally I'll let you all know how it works.  I do use gold bond, it helps and prescription cortisone, Sarna is too temp for relief.

What I don't get is I'm off the incevik.  Maybe its the riba.  I had that before when on treatment but mostly on my arms, this is my back and abdomen.  It almost looks like I have chicken pox.  It comes and goes and seems worst first thing in morning. Sweat also aggrevates it and I live in Phoenix.  Thanks for all your help

I use Benadryl and hydrocortizone cream for itching and rash but I have to admit, I am not having too much problem with it.

I don't know how much water you are drinking, but my sodium went down and was 1 point below normal (not bad, I know) but I felt it was due to all of the water diluting me out. I also felt not quite right (wobbly and off kilter)drinking all that water. I started drinking 1 quart of chicken broth every morning (comes in 1 quart sizes already mixed). I felt physically better lmost immediately. I think that broth replaces some of the sodium I was losing drinking so much water. So now I am still drinking 4 quarts of plain water a day and I also drink that quart of broth every morning. My sodium is now normal. (I knew I could not cut back on water because my creatinine went up. I had to keep drinking water so the broth has fixed it.)

I had no itching for 11 weeks, then i got a rash and itching ,that was 10 days ago. Used zyrtec, helped a little. It was so bad I was taking sleeping pills and they wouldn't put me out because of itch.Got a script for atarax and it helped, however its also like a tranquilizer so it makes you a little spacey. the best thing I found for the itch itself was a lotion called Sarna original formula. Its  non cordisone and natural It was available in walgreens and walmart. It does stink like because of camphor and menthol but it really works, cause I had tried everything.I stiil use the aveeno lotion for skin and put this ontop at the itch site.Good luck and don't let it wear you down.

Gold bond ultimate soothing formula works for me.  Its fragrance free and dermatologist tested.  I am allergic to a lot of skin products.  My itch has been just really annoying, not insane, and this controls it.  I may try that ocean potions ice if this ever stops handling it for me.  Meanwhile another option.

Try Ocean Potion Ice. Its a sunburn gel. I found it by accident. While on an itching rampage I found some in the medicine cabinet and was willing to do anything to make it go away. It worked miracles for me. I told my Dr about it and She called the company. They sent her 2 casses to try, and it seems to be very effective. I dose not cost much and you can get it from Wallmart on line if you cant find it. Good luck!! I feel your pain, I had it bad too.

thanks Dee, Benedryl works but puts me out, can't afford any more tiredness.  I over did water and ended up in the hospital, so I had to cut back but I will up it a little.  I just don't understand why now but it might be less water. Thanks

Hi I would try benedryl pils/gel caps and get.  There are a lot of lotions etc.
Try to make sure you are drinking enough water.  It is odd for it to start now but mybe it built up in your system and it now hitting you all at once.  I would force the water.  I am having an itching problem at 8 weeks and am waiting for my doc to return from a trip to help me.  In the meantime I am just going to sleep with benedryl
Good luck
Dee
p.s. I have also iced the spot that was itching and that seemed to help as well
