Rash not gone.

I have finally been successfully treated for hep c.  3 months after the end of the treatment I'm still free of the hep c virus. However, the real bad itchy rash that I had during the time I had hep c has come back. During my treatment with sofosbuvir and daclastavir ( I think it's spelled like that... (-: ) it had almost completely vanished. Is it possible that I still have the same rash even though I'm cured from hep c or should I worry that the virus is coming back? Are there more people that still have that rash after they have been successfully treated?

Yes, I have heard of some former heppers getting bad rashes post-treatment

I think your best bet is to see a Dermatologist

It doesn't mean at all that the virus has returned if you made it to 12 weeks SVR, then you can safely assume that you are cured

Thanks man. It really drives me crazy. But as long as I know that it's not the virus coming back I'm already feeling a lot better.

Hi, like hepcnme I have also heard of a rash after treating. I think we are more sensitive than before treating, congratulations!

I also have, not a rash per se, but eruptions that look like pimples but are not
All on my face, Yay!
My PCP told me to use acne cream for it and it does help a lot
The funny thing is, I never had acne in my life and now I am using acne cream at age 61!
I am guessing here but I think as your body rids itself of the toxic meds, it manifests in different ways
So, ask a dermatologist and I am hoping your rash goes away soon
Congrats on your SVR
There may be some post-treatment side effects that you will have to go through but getting rid of Hep C, priceless!
