I can't get a straight answer from anyone around here! It is driving me crazy!  Yes, hopefully we can do 48 wks.  Also hoping to add a 3rd med?  With any luck and persistence, I can get them to increase dosage & frequency. I think it is insane that I can not get anyone to LISTEN to me!!!!!
I know many can relate to this.  It just seems like we should have more advocacy and support by now!  This is NOT a new disease!!!!!!
Thanks!  Any and all research and advice is useful at this point.  I plan to be fully armed with facts and a plan at my nest appt.

I hope your doc is treating you for 48 weeks this time around.  That will give you the best chance at SVR.  Good Luck

Hi!  I am actually trying to get my hands on riba to begin pre-dosing prior to my second go at tx.  I am g3 and found out I relapsed at my 3 mo post labs.  I want to be sure I am doing everything possible to get cleared this time!!!!
I want to begin the next round of fun as soon as I can. I have done a lot of research and it sounds like my best bet at clearing is to hit HARD and FAST again.  I want to pre-dose with riba and up my frequency and dosage on both when I treat.
If you are willing to part with your leftovers, and have not already done so, please let me know and I will get you my mailing info.
Thanks much, and GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

I treated for 48 weeks.  After my last shot (on a Friday) I was resigned to taking the awful riba for another 7 days.  The following Tuesday I saw my doctor and she said it was ok to stop that day.  So I did.  I'm UND at 4 weeks post EOT and at 12 weeks post EOT.  My 6 month post EOT labs will be drawn January 20, and I plan to be SVR then!  Whatever you decide to do, good luck and here's to SVR for us all!

Deb-------

After 72 weeks I stopped my riba three days after my last injection. I'd just had enough. At that point.....the riba staying in you for months afterwards, I'd just had it.

But for normal tx - if you do 48 weeks and start taking pills at day one of injection you can't mess around. NP is wrong......take the next weeks worth of pills......to EQUAL doing 48 weeks.

Good luck

Most doctors advise to take the riba for one week after the last shot. Other doctors don't. So there are two schools of thought. Riba has a very long half life and from what I have read in several discussions here on the forum, it doesn't really seem to matter.

well, since it's a month ago, if you take the pills, they're prbably not going to do much pee it out seeing that an important function of riba is to maximize the function of the Peg!  don't worry about it!  you're done!

Think after 72 weeks you are ok :>)  I may stop with last injection, depends on how many pills i ahve left.

Also agrees with Portann and epi!

I stopped the riba same day when I had injection 72. A month ago today.  Is it too late to take a weeks worth of pills now?  I was on 1000  per day.

I'm with portann on this, to get the full course of treatment you need to complete the 24, 36, 48 (whichever applies) weeks.  Her logic is spot on.

My nurse has my completion date as the last day of Riba which is 7 days post my last shot.

I would make sure I took it all.

According to your earlier post, your nurse wants you to quit your Riba on your last injection day.

I'm far, far, far from an expert but that's not like anything I've ever heard.
I think she must be wrong, unless something else is going on.

The norm is to complete your e.g. 48 weeks of treatment and you wouldn't be doing that if you stop your ribs for the rest of the week. Your first injection counts for point zero and your second for point one, so to do eg 48, you have to do the riba for the remainder of the last week.

Don't know how many weeks you're doing but even if it's less or more, it's the same idea.
