If an SVR person eats off a dish of a non hcv person, is that person in danger of getting hep C from the SVR person?
Even if you were full of the virus you couldn't get hcv this way.........dont worry you dont even HAVE the virus any longer that is why you are SVR - CURED. You will always have the antibodies but you do NOT have the virus so you can't give it to anybody!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Congratulations of your transplant and your clearance of the hepatitis C virus. Those are two huge accomplishments.
It shows your sensitivity and concern for others that you do not want others to be infected by the virus.Luckily, because of all you have been through with your transplant and successful hepatitis C treatment, there is no need to be concerned. There is no risk of spreading hepatitis C at this point. Having achieved SVR after your hepatitis C treatment means you have been cured of the disease. You are no longer a carrier of chronic HCV. Therefore neither of you are infected with HCV. So there is no HCV to transfer.
Pariah??? No way. Heroine? Yes!!! (Heroine, a woman of distinguished courage or ability, admired for her brave deeds and noble qualities).
Enjoy your second life!
Cheers!
Hector
You are SVR and have now gone thru the rigors of a transplant ,it is time for you to enjoy the rest of your life with a new liver and you are HCV free.
You are not in any way a pariah...you are someone who had a virus and did everything to eradicate it succesfully...it is behind you :)
Best
Will
There's a new paper that talks about the sporadic reappearance of small amount of virus up to 8 years after you SVR. But the amounts are so small that it is believed that your immune system can keep it under control.
I haven't heard of anybody passing it under those circumstances although I suppose it could happen.
You cannot get Hep C from eating. It is only transmitted blood to blood. Let's say you have Hep C and bleed and I touch the blood and I have a cut on my hand. If some of your blood goes into my blood then I can get it.
