SVR!!

Got the call this morning that made my day (life)! "Congratulations, you are now cured after completing treatment this past September" was on my voicemail. Doc didn't even say SVR....went right to "cured"! Had the 6 month post blood draw last week and was feeling pretty confident over the weekend but it was such a relief to actually hear those words.

I was geno 2 and did 24 months of peg and riba ( I suppose that is considered old school now). I had PCT which lead to my HCV diagnosis as well. The Hep C is gone and I'm glad to say the PCT is too after a couple of phlebotomies after 3 months post treatment....in fact this is the best my hands have looked in 2 years! Just gotta keep it in check. No profound post tx issues except some joint pain which could be from inactivity during tx and being another year older. The only clinical thing I can see being affected was my testosterone which dropped from mid normal before tx to way below normal after. Started replacement therapy and can notice the fatigue going away. Overall started getting back to normal after a couple of months post tx.

I just want to thank everyone on this forum! This has been a great source of inspiration and it continues to be. It is especially great to read so many posts about the new treatments and the fact that side effects posts may soon be something of the past. That in itself will go along way in inspiring folks that know they have HCV to consider treatment and perhaps more to get tested!

Thanks again to all for such a wonderful place of support and information! Good luck and peace to all!
