Is it possible to test fslse negative for b or c 3 years after exposure. I have been having issues to many too list but all go back to liver issues since 6 weeks after exposure. Even enlarged liver on MRI. But tested negative can it hide and not be found by regular blood test.

What tests are you having done?

The hep c antibody test is fairly accurate. If that test is positive then a follow up test to look for the virus itself called the HCV RNA by PCR test would be done.

What has your doctor said about your enlarged liver? It could be possible that is normal size for you. Do you have elevated over enzymes?

Really we here are just patients and cannot diagnose any illness. But it does sound like you should have more diagnostic testing to get a better idea of what could be going on.

Are you seeing a gastroenterologist?l or hepatologist? They are best equipped to find out what is going on.
