I crossed the Finish Line

I did it, I am done. I crossed the finish line at 10 pm last night when I took my last pill.Woke up this a.m. and realized I did not have to get food into my body!! What a relief.

I thank you all for your support. This forum has been a God Send of information and friendship.

I did triple Vic, Riba, Interferon. GT 1a, cc, 2/2.  First time tx

No helper drugs but reduced Riba at week 19 from 1000 to 800.

HGB stayed about 9.2 all of tx.

The worse side effect?  Itching. Scalp, body.  LIke little itchy crawly things all over me.  Used all lotions, creams, antihistamines.

Best Side effect?  Becoming UND and Llama Lashes, I love them!!  (doc says they will go in a few months :( )

This is cute, You don't actually "do a drug." Latisse is a solution that you apply topically. I use it AM/PM and I have to say my lashes are incredible. I love not having to wear mascara. Having my eyes stand out is a real spirit booster since I am losing hair by the glob and have lost most of my eyebrows due to what my doc says is Interferon-induced hypothyroidism.  So yes, I am taking Synthroid now.

Anyway, the ♥real♥ reason I posted again is because I just re-read your post and noticed this sentence:

"HGB stayed about 9.2 all of tx."

My God, how did you manage this? I was certain my Hgb plummeted at 12 weeks because I feel like I am walking in fog and am totally dysfunctional. The thing is, I discovered today that it is 10.2 which is kind of low but no where near lots of people on Pro-crit already, many of them whose Hgb is not even as low as yours!

I seriously do not want to be on one more medication so it is from that perspective I commend you for trudging forward.

So happy for you that you have crossed the finnish line. I'm sort of comparing with you since you also treated with Victrelis. It is comforting for us still on tx that you share your after tx experiences. I really hope you will stay with us from time to time :)
by the way; lama lashes here too! I noticed it after reading your post and it's really amazing...I also noticed that I had some nose hair that seems to have grown a bit more than usual...lol...not so happy about that one. Will have to cut those nose hairs sticking out...I'm 39 and female and not comfortable with growing nose hair like and old man..;)

Congratulations!  And thank you!  I'm doing the same therapy as you and am still at the feel-dead-tired-but-I-must-take-pills-fall back down stage (only week 8 now).  Gives me hope I really can get through this.

Lama lashes?  Got them and for me they are horrid.  They curl up against the lenses in my glasses and continually smear them.  Don't know why the ladies always want them long and lush!

Everone keeps asking me if I use that stuff.   No, there is no way I would do a drug for lashes. I have to keep mascara on mine because they curl in every direction and  scratch my eyeballs!!  I have "crazy lashes".  Yes, it was a hard race, not one I hope to ever put back on my race calendar.  Lol

Thanks everyone......mo
