Will start hep c treatment january 2012 -

geno type 1a - 560,000 viral load will I get cured with new treatment , very scared

sorry let me rephrase that comment, my hemotologist said for some reason the treatment is taking faster to the geno 1a's. but they have seen such dramatic results that I think they r even baffled. sorry if that offended anyone that wasnt my intention Just mis quoted. oopsie love to all

Im so glad to hear your undetectable already that is wonderful. yeeeha. lol I start treatment in 6 days at u of michigan Im also geno 1a, stage 5 liver fibrocis / cirhocis. Ive had hep c since 1989 blood transfusion. ugh. Im treating with professor Askari and he said that for some reason the treatment is taking best to geno 1a's better than the other types, works for me, ill take what I can get. good luck to u sweety keep me posted on how your doing k? how are your sides?

I am Geno 1a, started treatment on Aug 1st and I am already undetectable after 4weeks of treatments! The new meds are making us better!! Good Luck with treatment!

Being that you are from canada, type 1, and this is just a guess, you will be treating with boceprevir. Here is a link to thier webpage, it covers all the questions you may have about response rates and side effects.
