alt/ast

First "Hello" it's been a long time! Question to anyone who has been svr for one year plus! What is your ast/alt been? I did lab and my numbers are both in normal range but one is a little higher than what it was 6 months post TX SVR! Now I'm 2 years post! Thanks

I didn't even finish my 24 and I'm still the poster child for paranoia.

My alt was in the 30's, ast 20's, although my cholesterol and triglycerides both the highest in over 20 years which were always low before my svr! Need to work on them! Just get a little paranoid when I see a change! 3 rounds of tx made me that way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the !@#$% phlebo' who drew the sample for the PCR (I didn't ask for) didn't freeze the sample, so now I've got to have it redrawn.
In case anyone was wondering.

Immediately post-tx they were right in the middle of 'normal' range - 20 give or take a point or two. One year post I started taking lisinopril (hypertension), and they rose to the high end of normal range, 40 give or take. Had routine bloods drawn two weeks ago (7 years post). AST 26   ALT 35.

As you know ALT/AST fluctuates. I have SVR for 2 years and my recent ALT/AST has been the lowest ever. Probably because I switched to a extremely low fat diet, less than 10 grams of Sat. fat a day. No red meat or eggs or butter etc. My ALT was 18, AST was 24. It was never that low before.

Good to see you Spaceman.  I hope things are going well for you and that you are back to whatever normal is.

I don't keep a close eye on lab results like I used to.  These days I see the doc for blood sugar issues mainly.  When I glance at the panels ast/alt is usually in mid to high teens.  Still bounce around some but usually in the lower half of the normal range.  I think the alt is a few higher.  Don't have the paper with me near this pc though.

Take care.
