cancer

I am very sad. Just got a call from my dad saying he has pancreatic and liver cancer. From what I recall its an aggressive cancer right? He hasn't been dx with hep c. I don't have very much info at the moment. Waiting for them to call me after appointment.  :0(

Thank you for all your kind words and encouragement.  He started chemotherapy on Thursday.  It's odd because he was my support though my diagnosis, now I feel lucky mine is just Hep C and not what he has.  He lives about an hour from me so at least I'm able to visit him every few days.  I have mixed feelings about my treatment.  I know they are struggling to pay for the meds etc., I know I need to take care of myself, but also want to try and financially help.  I have my appointment with my doctor on Thursday and guess I will go from there.

So sorry to hear about this bad news... I hope your father gets good information and good options at his appointment.  The waiting part is so hard... hang in there... take a deep breath and take it one step at a time.

My husband was first diagnosed with massive liver cancer in 2007, and in spite of all odds he's still here, fighting the good fight.  It's true that as a rule liver cancer is very aggressive (and I understand so is pancreatic, but I don't know much about it personally) -- but it is not without options -- if I can offer any info to help during this difficult time, don't hesitate.  Try to stay strong and positive, Jilly.  Hoping for the best for your dad. ~eureka
