There are no intravenous treatments for hep c. Older treatment involve a weekly injection just under the skin called sub cutaneous with a medicine called interferon but that is becoming much less prescribed. The new modern treatments may be 1 pill a day or multiple pills a day depending on what medicine your doctor prescribed. Your doctor will determine the best treatment for you based on your genotype of hepatitis c. Have you been tested to determine your genotype yet? It would be something like 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b, etc....

Do you know your viral load and if you have any liver damage? This information is important for your doctor to determine to know what is the best treatment for you.

The new treatments have names like Harvoni or Viekira Pak there are other newer treatments also. However none of the new medicines involve the use if interferon so no shots.
