Hi-
Did you see a hepatologist yet and find out more about your condition? Are you going to have a liver biopsy and find out the stage and grade of you disease? Have you found out what your genotype is? These are all very important in determining when and how to treat.
For geno 1,2 and I think 4 telaprevir should be available in about a year, and boceprevir should also be available around that time. it seems likely that telaprevir will be available first, but it's hard to say for sure. These drugs will be used in conjunction with interferon and ribavirin therapy. Often genotype 2,3 will respond well to the current meds, if you have advanced fibrosis or cirhosis you would probably not want to wait any longer and may want to treat with the current meds.
Best to you,
Dave
Thank you Specteda.
I will keep on top of this and get back to you when I have any news.
