What is your antibody/antigen status for Hepatitis A and B? Even if you've had those vaccinations, sometimes they don't 'take'. When I was in the acute stage of HCV infection, the jaundice was no different than when I had Hep A or Hep B. What is your doctor basing his diagnosis on? If you have become co-infected with one of these others, it could become much more serious than simple chronic HCV infection.

Those are not symptoms of acute hepatitis C.  With acute hep C you turn yellow with high bilirubin, are exhausted and feel very itchy, (also from the high bilirubin levels).  When I had it my palms and soles of feet were the itchiest.  Your symptoms are of a different ailment.

If you take the treatment for hep C, and get SVR (free from hep C virus). You can be infected again and get hep C once more. The antibody for hep C is not good enough for prevent new hep C, because the virus is mutation much, and because of that No vaccine for hep C.
I had symptoms of acute hep c in 3 weeks for 2 years ago, and I had the virus in 30 years. After that I find out I want to get treated for hep C.
