hep c 3a

I am 56 yrs old and found out that I have hep c 3a, can someone please tell me if this is a bad ne or is it highly curable?   I am truly scared here. My insurance might run out in June due to Obama care. My job is talking about just taking the fine and discontinuing our insurance. If that happens I am scared to start treatment then having to stop due to lack of insurance.  I have been talking to a ton of peeps in my age group and it bnlows my mind how many of us baby boomers have the Hep C. Lord the 70's were great, but man we are getting our ***** kicked now for it. Lol. Most my friends were snorters and shared rolled up bills,  could that have caused this?  sorry for rambling I am so confused. if anyone could give me some sound advice I would be greatful.

Liver Disease comes in a few forms.

HepC which today they check the Donated Blood and if someone has it they are contacted right away.
The IV use and Alcohol use is asking for Cirrhosis in my eyes.
Blood Disease at birth has caused Liver Disease in the ones that didn't know they had it till it was Cirrhosis.
There are so many ways it is hard for them to control it.So I think the person has to control the lifestyle that they live in most cases, with HepC anyway.
Years of prescription drug use can cause problems with the liver.I try and not take anything no more than I have too.I have pain but I do not take pain meds in fear of damage to my liver.
Most people dont even think about there liver. It's like trying to tell a smoker not to smoke.I quit smoking after 26yrs of it, have not smoke for the past 12yrs.bc I seen to many family members die with cancer,I'm not going to get cancer from smoking thats for sure.
Do you get where I'm coming from?
What I am saying is I do whatever it takes to take care of my liver NOW,but I didn't think about it before I found out I had HepC and Cirrhosis.
Take care of yourself bc no one else is going to!!!
Hope is very big thing!

Good Luck to you!

I see you have been a member of the forum for 3 years now.I have been here 6 months and have learned a lot in that small amount of time.
You should know that  treatment is your only choice of being free from HepC.
There are many tx out there that has cured alot of people on here.If you want to cure it or not have Cirrhosis from HepC then I would advise you to see a Hepatologist at the Transplant Center near you before your insurance runs out.Go ahead and get as much of the testing as you can done Liver Biopsy,Labs, etc. The Clinical Trials are free!!

Good Luck!
