Just be careful about things that involve blood. Hepatitis C isn't that easy to get. If you don't have a viral load...you don't have hepatitis C.
Thanks for the info!!! Yes the doctor told me that i have to do the test again after 6 months. I just afraid that i will pass this to my kids and husband if we all have a small cuts
Will do the viral load test again next week .. So finger crossed!!
You have tested positive for Hepatitis C antibodies. What that means is you were "exposed" to Hepatitis C. It doesn't mean you have hepatitis C.
This is why
20-25% who are exposed to Hepatitis C clear the virus on their own. They don't have a viral load and will continue to test positive for Hepatitis C for the rest of their life. But they don't accrual have Hepatitis C.
If you test positive for Hepatitis C you will need to follow up with another blood test to see if you have a viral load. If you have a viral load only then is it confirmed you have Hepatitis C.
You can't infect another person if you don't have a viral load. Because you don't have hep C. Hepatitis C is passed by blood. So till you get a viral load test keep your personal items to yourself. Razors, toothbrushes, nail clippers etc. It's a good practice to have regardless if you have hep c or not.
You haven't confirmed you have Hepatitis C.
Best to you
