interferon

anyone heard or had treatment of interferon when your bad liver is removed and new/used one installed

im going to get interferon during transplant when the bad liver is out and before good liver goes in. they hope thats all the treatment i'll require.

If you’re referring to IFN treatment post transplant, yes; there are a number of Medhelp members that have done that. Two that come to mind immediately are mikesimon (Mike) and IAmTheWalrus (Brent).

A few years ago I heard of people being on tx. after transplants. They said they ended up with an easier hep C  to cure. Also, if you haven't cleared the virus there is a chance you will get another infected liver that is in better shape
