it's official: 24 weeks EOT SVR!

It's official! Got my lab results today: 24 weeks EOT undetected. Thank you Gillead, this forum, my Dr and his coordinator!

To summarize, I was genotype 2a, infected in 1995, took Sovaldi + ribavirin for 12 weeks starting in May 2014 and was undetectable since 4 weeks into treatment. This was my first and only treatment.

Viral load was 7 million just before the treatment and 16 million 2 months prior. All liver enzymes were always in the middle of normal and platelet counts 215-250. Yeah, if not for the viral load and how crappy I felt most of the time, according to the tests, I was a picture of health. 2 weeks ago I also had the ultrasound of the liver, my first, and it did not find anything abnormal, from gall bladder to portal vein to liver size and texture, etc, etc.

And yes, the 12 weeks of treatment were brutal and post treatment was very depressing too. It turned out, a latent chronic infection flared up during the treatment, likely due to the severe drop in both my red and white blood counts. But now, 24 weeks EOT, everything is back to normal and after addressing that infection but also due to the flu I just had, I finally feel pretty good. That flu, though it was very brutal in the first 2 days, had a very positive effect on me in only a few days after it let off. I suddenly had a surge in energy and mood. I think somehow it revived my immune system and shocked my body out of the slumber it was put in by those very powerful meds. Thank God for them :)

And yes, I have already posted in the SVR thread at 12 weeks EOT.

Good luck to everyone and may you all also be cured!

I just re-read your post and wanted to thank you so much for sharing your experience  before, during and after tx.
While many have no problems on tx or after wards.  There are others out there that are having problems and they think there is something wrong with them.
I think you might be right about the flu, kind of resetting you your body
I am sincerely so happy for you I am bursting with happiness.
Getting out my red dance shoes..
