liver pain and duodenim ulcers

I contracted Hepatitis C (genotype 2) from the use of dirty needles when I was about 20. I have not used drugs for a very long time (about 4 or 5 years). It has been about 6 years now since the actual time I contracted the disease and I have undergone Alpha interferon and Ribaviran treatment that has seemed to have worked. There was no sign of the disease after the 6 month treatment. After that treatment I started experiencing pain in my upper right liver area under my breast bone. I went in to have an upper G.I. and now have a duodenum ulcer. My Dr. gave me protonix to help the ulcer. I have not yet taken the medicine because I have to stop smoking to do so, and it has been very hard for me to quit. Is my pain around where my liver would be from the ulcer (is that where my duodenim is)? or could it be that my hepatitis is back? Is this common? Do patients often complain about dull pain in that area?

No problem. :) You will experience immediate relief of heartburn and pain from the ulcer/s from that combination of veggies. As I said it takes only around 10-days to totally heal them after having 1-drink per day of the fresh juice. Any old juicer that separates the pulp from the juice will work fine.

Here's some info about it:

http://www.innvista.com/health/foods/vegetables/cabbage.htm
"Cabbage contains more vitamin C than oranges, as well as a large number of minerals, including iodine, sulfur, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. The outer leaves contain more Vitamin E and calcium than the inner leaves. Making cabbage into sauerkraut actually promotes healthy intestinal flora and strengthens the intestines. Cabbage also contains a factor called Vitamin U, which is an ulcer healer, helping both peptic and duodenal ulcers. Many of the healing properties of cabbage are attributed to its high sulfur content. Grated cabbage has been used as a poultice for the treatment of wounds, varicose veins, and leg ulcers. Cabbages should not be sliced until they are ready to be used as this tears the cell walls, releasing the enzymes that hasten oxidation and destruction of Vitamin C."

"Choose cabbage juice: If you down about a quart of cabbage juice daily, studies have found, your ulcer will heal more rapidly. Cabbage juice is high in substances that protect your gut's mucous-membrane lining, including L-glutamine, an amino acid, and gefarnate, which stimulates the secretion of mucus from your stomach's lining. You can make your own cabbage juice in a juicer or grinder. But since cabbage's ulcer-fighting powers vary greatly, depending on growing conditions, choose only fresh green cabbages; the best ones are spring and summer cabbages. Celery juice also contains factors that help heal ulcers."

There's thousands of different articles on Google.com about it if you type in: "Cabbage heals Ulcers"

My Dad usedto have Hep-C and at one point he had really bad ulcers which gave him heartburn 24/7 all day everyday and pain in his chest. He also had blood in his stool from the bleeding ulcers.

I found out that fresh Green Cabbage juice heals ulcers very quickly. So I made my Dad a vegetable juice with green cabbage in it... after the first drink the heartburn and pain went away in his chest immediately within seconds, whereas antacid tablets didn't work. The next day it came back a little, but after the 2nd drink the heartburn and pain never returned. Within around 10-days he no longer had ulcers or blood in his stool.

1/2 green cabbage
2 stalks celery
1/2 tomato or
3 carrots

Your Duodenum is of the small intestine. It recieves food through the pyloric sphincter. It is about ten inches long. The small intestine is divided into three sections:
the duodenum, the jejeunum, and the ileum.
Hope you feel better.
Could the smoking be a contributing factor? Maybe your body is trying to heal, but the smoking is impeding the blood capillaries from functionally working. 20%of a smokers blood is nonfunctional at any given time due to the excelerated carbod dioxide levels.
When you bring in the air, it goes into the lungs and into aveoli sockets, which give oxygen to all cells through the blood into every organ. Quiting smoking can only raise your chances of healing your liver completely.
Good luck.

I had the six month treatment 5 years ago and also get small pressure in my liver. I always wonder if it's coming back. But I have energy every day work full time. Lifes good. My hubby on the other hand has now got ulsers and a hernia. His blood comes back good as well. He was on the treatment for 12 months. The dic says they are connected. I'm worried about him he's lost nearly 12 ks since last November . I wonder if they are connected Luke doc says. Hep and ulcers?

I have successfully got rid of the virus at the three month treatment mark, and I also have noticed a pain at my liver. a very subtle, yet consistant discomfort.

I have not yet contacted my doctor, but a friend of my thought that perhaphs this discomfort was casued by extra blood flow to the site in order for the liver to heal itself, and reverse the scar tissue. like a muscle ripping, and the soreness you feel as it repatches itself.

this is not, however, a relyable prediction by any means.

Im looking for more answers.
