hi, just wanted to say the way this weather is and the humidity many are feeling poorly and not just those on tx. ....
get your bloods checked, but probably is all the heat making you weak.....
have friends and work collegaues all feeling poorly and wanting to feel sick from the heat and especially the humidity.
This stuff makes your levels spike up and down - there is no consistancy. It's good to keep copies of every set of labs, so you can keep an eye on yourself. As newleaf stated, time to call the doctor.
It's not impossible to have a strong shot reaction after a mild one for a long time but I don't think the reaction should cause a continuous high fever for a week and a half. If your neutrophils (bacteria fighting white blood cells) have been laid low by the interferon (which it does) a bacterial infection can get started and make you much more miserable than you should be. Time to call the doctor, look at neutrophil count, maybe start an antibiotic on the doctor's recommendation.
Sorry, I meant Curse of the Golden Flower. I have dragon-slaying on my mind.:)
I had a hard time in the earlier stage of treatment and then had a 'decent' run for a fair while.
It was towards the end (the last four weeks of forty-eight) that I thought I couldn't keep going.
My bloodwork did indicate trouble brewing but not enough to alter course, and my doctor advised me to continue. Those last few weeks were some of my worst.
I feel so much better now, almost nine weeks post-tx. During tx, I often felt like the Empress in The Curse of the Golden Dragon, obediently taking the very medicine that was making me sick.
Hi Lynno,
Sorry to hear you feel so poorly. If you feel bad enough for it to frighten you, it’s probably a good idea to call the doc in the morning and discuss it with them. Just because you’re on treatment doesn’t mean you won’t contract something else, you know? I know someone very close to me that managed to get pretty sick in the final few weeks of treatment; you just might be worn out from all this cr@p.
As far as others in here knowing more about their blood work, that might be true; but knowledge doesn’t make them feel any less sick :o). We all get funky on this stuff; hang in there, and give the doc a call in the morning,
Bill
Get copies of your bloodwork and post them here.
Could be low white blood cells (the ones which fight infection).
You'll get more input here than from any nurse!
