passport

If Hepc is a notifiable condition in the state where I live, will it be harder for me to get a passport?  I've never had to have a passport before and am thinking of going to Canada and Mexico in the next year, but I'm hesitant to get one if it is going to be flagged in some way.

Thanks for the info.
I know I was horrified to learn that they track Hep in my state- the form even had a line for who your employer is.  Seems a little intrusive to me, its not like its that easily passed on to others.
On the other hand it would be good if they used the numbers of people infected to create awareness and all, just don't like the idea of being on some "list".

I travel quite frequently, from here in Canada to the U.S and there has never been an issue with getting a passport here in regards to HCV,so I would assume it would be the same there, wanting to travel this way.

About 2 month after I was diagnosed I got a call from the local Dept Of Health.  They offered me free vaccination for A, and B.  I was pretty surprised when they called.  If I attain SVR I'm going to call them and tell them to take me off the "list"......lol.

Not sure about all states but most doctors, etc are required to report someone with HCV to the county board of health.

Hepatitis C has no bearing on passports or travel. No need to even mention it.
