As a person working in the health care field I would assume you would have training on blood borne viruses like hep c.
Per the CDC hepatitis c FAQ for the general public site which I suggest you google search:
“Hepatitis C virus is not spread by sharing eating utensils, breastfeeding, hugging, kissing, holding hands, coughing, or sneezing. It is also not spread through food or water.”
Another good reference is hepatitis c FAQ for health care professionals. I’m really surprised you have had training on this
Hepatitis c is most commonly contracted by sharing of IV drug needles or having a blood transfusion prior to 1992 when hep c antibody testing was developed and the blood supply secured. While not really considered to be an STD for those with multiple sex partners or those who engage in rough sexual practices there is a small risk of sexual transmission.
