I'm sorry to hear you had to stop ,
I went through the worst rash I personally have ever seen on incivek a few weeks back
It covered me from head to toe ....
My Dr was talking like he was going to take me off but kept pushing to get through , I think it's once your face start swelling up they stop the meds
I don't know what happened , I was in the creams and 50mg hydroxine and the rash cleared up after the second week ,
I managed to get through , I guess I'm lucky
I would try a dermatologist
I hope they are able to get you cleared up and back on the RIBA soon

Good luck to you I hope you feel better

I had to stop incivek at 11 weeks and 2 days because of my rash. I also had the swollen face and eyes. I was a real mess. Quickly the incivek rash disappeared but lo and behold the RIBA rash was hiding underneath. My dermatologist became my best friend. Take pooh55811's advice if you haven't seen a derm make an appointment soon. By the way, tomorrow is my 24th shot and I'm undetected and plan on staying that way. Good luck to you.

I am sorry that you had to stop the Incivek. Hopefully you will still attain SVR. Being UND at week 4 is good and hopefylly you will remain UND.

Did you see a dermatologist? I am hoping they put you one some strong prescription antihistamines and some strong prescription steroid ointments and creams. Since you are off the Incivek, perhaps they can put you on oral steroids until the rash is under control.

The rash may or may not get better quickly, even with stopping the Incivek. That is why hopefully you saw a dermatologist who is familiar with Hep C Tx rashes and who will be aggressive in treating the rash so that you can remain on the Interferon and Ribavirin.

We have had some people on the forum who had great dermatologists  that were aggressive in treating the rash and got the rash under control so the people could stay on treatment. Unfortunately, we have also had some forum members who had to stop treatment because their docs did not take the rash seriously enough and they did not treat the rash aggressively. I surely hope your doctors do everything possible to treat your rash so that you can stay on treatment.

Best of luck.

I would like to point out that those are over all stats, for subjects who were eRVR in the T12/PR group the SVR rate jumps to

(SVR rates were 89.2% in the T12/PR group among subjects who had eRVR and had a planned treatment duration of 24 weeks.)

And I would imagine that the SVR rate for subjects that were eRVR (which it looks like you will be) in the T8/PR group would jump as well but they do not provide that stat

Have a great day

Vertex had a trial (study 108) with a 8 wk telaprevir arm, here are the results

6.2.1.3 Duration of Treatment
The telaprevir regimens were 24 or 48 weeks in duration, with telaprevir given in combination with Peg-IFN and RBV for either the first 8 weeks (T8/PR) or the first 12 weeks (T12/PR). For subjects who had undetectable HCV RNA at Week 4 and Week 12 (extended rapid virologic response [eRVR]), Peg-IFN and RBV were dosed for a total of 24 weeks. For subjects who did not achieve eRVR, Peg-IFN and RBV were dosed for a total of 48 weeks.

6.2.1.7 Efficacy Results
SVR rates were 72% in the T8/PR group, 79% in the T12/PR group
