relapse and hep c

i was on interferon for 9 mths and relapsed on drugs. i am now awaiting blood tests again am i allowed to go back on interferon. i went undetected after 4-6 weeks but the virus has returned

i was on for 48 weeks, but stopped of my own back after relapsing. it was undetected before my relapse. i am due to see consultant tommorrow. what do you know of inhibitors?

I think it said he was RVR somewhere so maybe they let him stop at 36.  A few years ago there was a study that said 36 weeks after you UNDd was how long you treated for - HaltC I think it was called I don't really remember anymore since it's old info.  So maybe the doc thought this was close enough of something. Or he could have had a breathrough at week 36.  People have done plenty of odd number weeks of treatment and not subscribed to 24/48/72.  I had wanted to do 60 but my doc wouldn't let me - made me go to 72 as that was all the study data supported.

Lots of people re-treat. Being on tx for 9 months is strange to me. I see 24 and48 weeks and sometimes 72 weeks. Did you stop at 9 months because a doctor told you to, or was it your decision?

Curious myself when the virus returned because of the RVR.

Since you live in the UK, "allowed" is a question for the National Health, though maybe one of our other UK members has an answer for that. You don't say whether the virus returned before or after the drug relapse.
