ringing in my ears driving me koo,koo

hello fellow hep "c"ers. I am half way through my 6mth pegatron treatment,I must say that I was very optimistic when I first started, keeping a positive additude and outlook, but thats not quite enough to keep those challenging effects of the treatment from comming.I always considered myself a pretty tough guy ,but I'm more like a big baby with additude now.The latest is a nonstop ring in my ears and its sending me bonkers!! Can anymore out there relate?and if so any suggestions?

I'm 2 weeks away from being done with this tx and my ears have been ringing since the first month. I'm doing 48 weeks... anyhow... I have found that I've kind of gotten used to it. I keep the TV on all day though because silence makes it a million times worse... so that may be why I'm able to deal with it better than at first. You're not weak... these drugs are VERY strong and no amount of will power can counteract cell destruction and neurotransmitter imbalance in your brain.

Hang in there, you can do it.

I finished tx in Oct '09 and I still have ringing in my ears.  I hope yours goes away once you finish tx.

My thyroid was fine last time it was checked.

Several months ago someone (dunno who) pointed at the thyroid as a potential source of the ringing.  Since inf can affect the thyroid, then maybe.....

thks,ya my hgb has been dropping steady since the start, its sitting at 100.I have blood work this wk,and am concerned that it going to drop below 90.I was told that if that happens they may want to drop the dosage, which may effect the out come, and I really want the best bang go my buck,so to speak.

Sounds like the anemia to me too that high pitched nonstop ringing almost made me crazy.
Like Candoman said have your HGB level checked (hemoglobin) you just might need procrit.

After making sure its not your phone, might want to check your HGB, could be a side effect of Anemia............ Good luck, best to you on your rest of treatment.
